Celine Dion‘s battle with Stiff-Individual Syndrome took a toll on her bodily and mentally … with the singer admitting she grew resentful of her personal identify.
The singer opened up about her well being journey for a sit down with “At this time” — explaining the impression her dysfunction has had on her. Whereas she was hesitant to talk out about her prognosis, she finally shared her well being information with the world in December 2022 … telling Hoda she felt like she was “mendacity to the individuals who obtained me the place I’m as we speak.”
She recalled first combating the dysfunction when her late husband, René Angélil, was battling throat most cancers — forcing her to disregard early warning indicators as she was specializing in household on the time.

She added … “It is intimidating for me to say my identify as a result of I hear it quite a bit … And whenever you’re not effectively, I didn’t need to hear my identify. I didn’t know who I used to be anymore as a result of I am not the person who I was.”
But, Celine says the present should go on, with Hoda Kotb explaining the singer has undergone bodily remedy and vocal rehabilitation to hopefully return to her singing profession quickly.
Hoda’s full sit-down with Celine will air tonight on NBC at 10/9c. She will even open up about her journey in her new documentary, “I Am: Celine Dion,” out June 25 on Prime Video.
