New gentle has been shed on Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy’s struggles with substance abuse throughout her troubled relationship with JFK Jr. in a bombshell biography.
‘Ask Not: The Kennedys and the Ladies They Destroyed’, by DailyMail.com columnist and writer Maureen Callahan, particulars how Carolyn was a frequent cocaine consumer.
She began utilizing the drug when she labored as director of publicity for American designer Calvin Klein within the 80s and early 90s.
There she ‘studied’ the fashions, Callahan writes, making an attempt to grasp how they ‘stayed so skinny’ and maintained their beauty.

Carolyn was riddled with insecurity, reportedly confessing to to feeling ‘jolie-laide‘ (ugly-pretty), and when she began courting JFK Jr, in 1994, ‘she turned towards her psychical reinvention’.
‘She was solely 28 years outdated however [she] took to erasing her small facial traces with Botox. The couple died July 16, 1999, alongside Carolyn’s sister Lauren when JFK Jr. crashed the airplane he was piloting them in off the coast of Martha’s Winery. They had been on their solution to a Kennedy household marriage ceremony. Carolyn was 33; Lauren was 34.
‘Within the aftermath of [the crash], it was Carolyn’s self-importance, her superficiality, her drug use, her all-around “shrewish” conduct that was typically blamed for main [JFK Jr.] to crash his airplane into the ocean,’ Callahan writes.
‘Carolyn has solely ever been depicted because the drug-addled harridan who made the final days of America’s prince so depressing,’ she provides. ‘The implication: if John Jr. hadn’t been so depressing he wouldn’t have been so distracted; and if he hadn’t been so distracted, he wouldn’t have crashed the airplane.
‘But the ensuing investigation by the Nationwide Transportation Security Board discovered [JFK Jr.] alone chargeable for [the crash].’
In 2001, Carolyn mom Ann Freeman reportedly obtained thousands and thousands in a settlement from the Kennedy household.
