Melonba, Sydney hit and run: Man is killed

An pressing search is underway for a driver after a person was killed in an alleged hit and run in Sydney’s west. 

Emergency companies rushed to Abell Highway in Melonba – a suburb in Blacktown about 51km north west of Sydney’s CBD – at about 11.45pm on Sunday following stories a person was injured on the facet of the highway. 

Paramedics labored desperately to avoid wasting the person, believed to be aged in his late 70s, however he died on the scene.  

The person has not but been formally recognized. 

Officers have established a criminal offense scene, with investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit forensically analyzing the world. 

Police consider the person was hit by a black sedan which was travelling eastbound on the highway. 

A report might be ready for the Coroner.
