Main raid at Shepparton in regional Victoria sees 11 individuals arrested and $600,000 in medicine and money seized

Police have arrested 11 individuals and seized $600,000 price of medicine and money after a prolonged operation in regional Victoria.

The eight-month investigation targeted on dismantling Shepparton’s main suppliers, with police alleging medicine had been transported from Melbourne to a trafficking ring in Victoria’s north.

Officers raided 13 properties and storage sheds in Shepparton and Melbourne on Wednesday and Thursday, seizing $150,000 price of methamphetamine, $100,000 of MDMA, $132,000 of cocaine, $10,000 of hashish, $150,000 in money, a pistol and ammunition, and three allegedly stolen motorbikes.

‘This week’s efforts have seen police take away vital quantities of medicine from Shepparton streets, hanging a significant blow to the illicit drug commerce,’ Shepparton crime investigation unit Detective Senior Sergeant Paul Shortis mentioned in a press release.

‘We all know that drug use usually serves as a springboard to different severe crimes, which might have devastating penalties for our group.’

These arrested included eight males from Shepparton, who had been all charged with drug trafficking.
